Abstract

Spectroscopic identifications of 2 Amino ethylaminom ethane phosphoric acid were carried out. 31 P nmr, and 13 C nmr were used in the spectroscopic characterization of the material. 31 P chemical shifts for 2-Aminoethylaminomethanephosphonic acid in D20 increase with chain length from 11.0ppm to a limiting value of ca. 27 ppm. 1H nmr spectra were complex and difficult to employ for the assignment of structures.

13C nmr spectra, however, provided a valuable means for identifying the aminophosphonic acid; with characteristic phosphoruscarbon coupling constants of IJPC 130. 1, 3JPCNC 4-8 Hz.
